Three application methods of abrasive additives
2020-12-02

Grinding is usingAbrasive material additives, Use tools to perform relative movement under certain pressure to finish the appearance of objects. Grinding can be used to process various metal and non-metal materials. The processed appearance shapes include plane, inner and outer cylindrical and conical surfaces, convex and concave spherical surfaces, screws, tooth surfaces and other mold surfaces. The appearance roughness is Ra0.63~0.01 microns. Grinding methods can generally be divided into dry grinding, semi-dry grinding and wet grinding. The details are as follows:

  1. Dry grinding: uniformly press the abrasive material additives into the surface of the abrasive tool. When grinding, just apply a small amount of stearic acid mixed grease and other auxiliary materials on the surface of the grinding tool. Dry grinding is often used for fine grinding, and the particle size of the micronized abrasive particles used is finer than that of W7.

  2. Semi-dry grinding: The abrasive material additive used is a paste-like abrasive paste. Grinding can be done manually or with a grinder. Before grinding the workpiece, other processing methods must be used to obtain higher pre-processing accuracy, and the remaining grinding allowance is usually 5-30 microns.

  3. Wet grinding: Add liquid abrasive material additives one by one to the grinding appearance or coating. The abrasive material slides between the workpiece and the grinding tool to form a cutting movement. Wet grinding is usually used for coarse grinding, and the particle size of the micronized abrasive particles used is coarser than W7.

Grinding tools are tools for grinding shaped workpieces and carriers of abrasive material additives. The hardness is lower than that of the workpiece, and they must have abrasion resistance. Most of them are made of gray cast iron. This tool is based on uniform and fine pearlite. The metallographic configuration of the wet abrasive is centered on ferrite. Grinding tools are also subject to cutting and abrasion during grinding. If they are handled properly, their accuracy will improve, and the processing accuracy of the workpiece can be made higher than the original accuracy of the grinding tool.

The above is the introduction of three application methods of abrasive material additives, thanks for reading.
