The existing preparation methods include acid method (including iron flake method and drip method), alkali method, oxidation method (including air oxidation method, sodium chlorate oxidation method and hydroxy iron oxidation method) and peptization method. In recent years, new results have been achieved in the preparation process of counterweight mineral yellow, and some new processes have been developed.

    Take FeSO4 as raw material, add dispersant and surfactant, pass in nitrogen protection, and then pass in air to oxidize, to prepare a transparent weight mineral pigment with uniform particle composition, good crystallization, and spindle shape, avoiding the mercerizing effect. Performance reaches the standard of my country's chemical industry. The improved air oxidation method has simple process, low production cost and good development prospects.
